Special Weather Statement issued May 21 at 10:44PM CDT by NWS Green Bay WI At 1043 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a cluster of strong thunderstorms over Southern Lake Winnebago, or near North Fond Du Lac, moving northeast at 65 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and pea size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible. Locations impacted include... Green Bay, Appleton, Oshkosh, Manitowoc, Menasha, Kaukauna, Little Chute, New London, Kimberly, and Chilton. If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways. Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm. Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe shelter inside a building or vehicle. A Tornado Watch remains in effect until midnight CDT for northeastern and east central Wisconsin.
