Washita River near Dickson affecting Carter, Murray and Johnston Counties. * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...Washita River near Dickson. * WHEN...From this morning to early Monday afternoon. * IMPACTS...At 26.0 feet, Flood depths of about a foot extend along the Washita River in Murray... Carter... and Johnston counties. Over 2 thousand acres of bottomlands between Rock Creek near Dougherty and Lake Texoma are covered... with flood depths up to 6 feet in low places. Any flooding on tributary creeks is increased by backwater from the river. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 7:30 AM CDT Saturday the stage was 9.0 feet. - Bankfull stage is 25.0 feet. - Forecast...The Washita River is expected to rise to a crest of 26.0 feet tomorrow evening. - Action stage is 24.0 feet. - Flood stage is 27.0 feet. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood If you encounter a flooded roadway, turn around and find an alternative route.
