Flood Warning issued June 22 at 9:20AM CDT until June 22 at 3:45PM CDT by NWS Hastings NE * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues. * WHERE...A portion of central Nebraska, including the following counties, Howard, Merrick, Nance and Sherman. * WHEN...Until 345 PM CDT Saturday. * IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 916 AM CDT, gauge reports indicated heavy rainfall of between 3 and 6 inches have fallen. Flooding is already occurring in the warned area. No additional rain is expected, but runoff will continue to lead to flooding in low-lying areas. - The Oak Creek near Dannebrog continues to rise and is expected to lead to additional flooding through this afternoon. The Turkey Creek north of Dannebrog is currently cresting near 21.6 feet, which is higher than the crest from the floods in 2019. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... St. Paul, Loup City, Palmer, Dannebrog, Litchfield, Elba, Ashton, Howard City, Farwell, Rockville, Hazard, Cushing, Boelus and Sherman Reservoir Dam. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
