Flood Warning issued June 22 at 2:45PM CDT until June 23 at 9:30AM CDT by NWS Hastings NE * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues. * WHERE...Portions of central and east central Nebraska, including the following counties, in central Nebraska, Howard, Merrick and Nance. In east central Nebraska, Polk. * WHEN...Until 930 AM CDT Sunday. * IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Streams continue to rise due to excess runoff from earlier rainfall. This includes the Silver Creek, Prairie Creek, and Clear Creek. It will take several hours for all the water from these storms to work through local drainage systems in urban areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 238 PM CDT, emergency management reported continued flooding in the warned area due to heavy rain and thunderstorms. Flooding is already occurring. Between 3 and 6 inches of rain fell Friday night - Flooding impacts will continue, but no additional rainfall is expected. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Fullerton, Genoa, Palmer, Clarks, Silver Creek and Archer. - At 145 PM Sunday, the Silver Creek was at 8.5 feet and rising. Flood stage is 9 feet. At 145 PM Sunday, the Clear Creek near Shelby was at 6.7 feet and slowly rising. Flood stage is 7.5 feet. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
