Severe Thunderstorm Watch issued May 20 at 6:47PM CDT until May 21 at 12:00AM CDT by NWS La Crosse WI THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH 272 IN EFFECT UNTIL MIDNIGHT CDT TONIGHT FOR THE FOLLOWING AREAS IN IOWA THIS WATCH INCLUDES 3 COUNTIES IN NORTH CENTRAL IOWA FLOYD MITCHELL IN NORTHEAST IOWA HOWARD IN MINNESOTA THIS WATCH INCLUDES 5 COUNTIES IN SOUTHEAST MINNESOTA DODGE FILLMORE MOWER OLMSTED WABASHA THIS INCLUDES THE CITIES OF AUSTIN, CHARLES CITY, CRESCO, DODGE CENTER, OSAGE, PRESTON, ROCHESTER, AND WABASHA.

Special Weather Statement issued May 20 at 6:26PM CDT by NWS La Crosse WI Funnel clouds have been reported during the past few minutes, mostly over southeast Minnesota. These funnel clouds normally do not touch the ground. As a result, they rarely do any damage and last only a few minutes. However, remain on the alert and be prepared to move to a place of safety if a funnel should approach the ground. Atmospheric conditions over will continue to be favorable for the formation of short lived funnels during the next several hours.
