Flood Advisory issued June 25 at 7:46AM CDT until June 25 at 9:45AM CDT by NWS Chicago IL * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...A portion of northeast Illinois, including the following counties, Cook and DuPage. * WHEN...Until 945 AM CDT. * IMPACTS...Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 744 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms with rainfall rates locally in excess of 2 inches per hour. - Additional rainfall amounts up to 2 inches are possible over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Chicago, Aurora, Naperville, Elgin, Cicero, Hammond, Arlington Heights, Evanston, Schaumburg, Bolingbrook, Palatine, Skokie, Des Plaines, Orland Park, Tinley Park, Oak Lawn, Berwyn, Mount Prospect, Wheaton and Hoffman Estates. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood A Flood Advisory means minor flooding along waterways and other poor drainage areas is imminent or may already be occurring.
