Flood Watch issued June 22 at 7:37PM CDT until June 23 at 1:00AM CDT by NWS Chicago IL * WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible. * WHERE...Portions of north central and northeast Illinois, including the following areas, in north central Illinois, Boone, De Kalb, La Salle, Lee, Ogle and Winnebago. In northeast Illinois, Central Cook, DuPage, Eastern Will, Grundy, Kane, Kendall, Lake IL, McHenry, Northern Cook, Northern Will, Southern Cook and Southern Will. * WHEN...Until 1 AM CDT Sunday. * IMPACTS...Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Thunderstorms will develop into Northern Illinois this evening with locally heavy rainfall possible. The potential for slow movement or training of thunderstorm cells may produce rainfall amounts in excess of 2 inches with localized amounts in excess of 4 inches possible. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood A Flood Watch for flash flooding means rapid-onset flooding is possible, but not yet certain, based upon the latest forecasts. Flash flooding is a dangerous situation.
