Mississippi River at Mel Price LD. Mississippi River at Grafton. Mississippi River at Chester. River forecasts are based on observed precipitation and forecast precipitation for the next 24 hours. * WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Mississippi River at Chester. * WHEN...From late Tuesday night until further notice. * IMPACTS...At 34.7 feet, The north parking lot at Menard Correctional Center begins flooding. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 9:30 PM CDT Monday the stage was 19.8 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage early Wednesday morning and continue rising to a crest of 34.4 feet early Friday afternoon. - Flood stage is 27.0 feet. Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Rainfall heavier than forecast could cause river levels to rise even higher than predicted.
