Flood Advisory issued May 27 at 2:59PM EDT until May 27 at 4:30PM EDT by NWS Upton NY * WHAT...Urban and small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...Portions of southern Connecticut, including the following county, Fairfield and southeast New York, including the following counties, Rockland and Westchester. * WHEN...Until 430 PM EDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 257 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to showers and thunderstorms approaching from the southwest. This will cause urban and small stream flooding. - Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1 inch are expected over the area. Localized higher amounts. Some of this may fall in as little as 20 minutes. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Stamford, White Plains, Port Chester, Ossining, New Canaan, Rye, Tarrytown, Dobbs Ferry, Nyack, Greenwich, Harrison, Darien, Wilton, Scarsdale, Hawthorne, Orangeburg, Upper Nyack, Eastchester, Rye Brook and Valley Cottage. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads.
