Flood Watch issued June 8 at 11:09AM AKDT until June 10 at 4:00AM AKDT by NWS Anchorage AK Light to moderate rain continues across Kodiak Island this morning with recent observations indicating 0.15 inch per hour rainfall rates. Heavier rain will be possible Saturday afternoon with a second round of heavier rainfall possible during the day on Sunday. * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...Kodiak Island, including Kodiak City. * WHEN...Through late Sunday night. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Landslides may be possible in areas of steep terrain. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - A prolonged period of rain is forecast across Kodiak Island. Total rainfall amounts of 3 to 6 inches are anticipated. Rain may be heavy at times.
