Hohe Temperatur

21.6. 3:37 AM 03:37 – 21.6. 7:37 PM 19:37

heat warning in effect A prolonged heat event continues through Friday. Dangerously hot and humid conditions are expected. Daytime highs are expected to be 29 to 32 degrees Celsius with humidex values of 38 to 42. There will be little relief through the overnight as lows are expected to be 20 to 23 degrees Celsius with humidex values of 26 to 30. Temperatures and humidex values may be several degrees cooler near the shores of the Great Lakes. Less hot and humid conditions are expected to slowly move into the area this weekend. Daytime highs are expected to be in the 28 to 31 degree Celsius range with overnight lows of 18 to 22 degrees Celsius. There is some uncertainty regarding how quick this cooler and drier airmass will move in so heat warnings may persist through the weekend. Hot and humid air can also bring deteriorating air quality and can result in the Air Quality Health Index approaching the high risk category. Drink plenty of water regularly, even before you feel thirsty to decrease your risk of dehydration. Thirst is not a good indicator of dehydration. The health risks are greater for older adults, infants and young children, pregnant people, people with physical and/or mental illnesses, and people with disabilities or mobility issues. Never leave people, particularly children, or pets inside a parked vehicle. Watch for the effects of heat illness: swelling, rash, cramps, fainting, heat exhaustion, heat stroke and the worsening of some health conditions. Heat stroke is a medical emergency! Call 911 or your local emergency number immediately if you or someone you are caring for has a high body temperature and is confused, has stopped sweating or becomes unconscious. While waiting for help, cool the person right away: move them to a cool place, apply cold water to large areas of the skin and fan the person as much as possible. ### Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada. Regen

22.6. 7:29 PM 19:29 – 23.6. 11:29 AM 11:29

rainfall warning in effect Rain, at times heavy, is expected. Hazard: Rainfall amounts of 40 to 60 mm. Timing: This afternoon into Sunday. Discussion: A low pressure system will bring significant rainfall to the region this weekend. Areas that receive multiple thunderstorms may have the potential to exceed 60 mm locally. For information concerning flooding, please consult your local Conservation Authority or Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry office. Visit Ontario.ca/floods for the latest details. ### Heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads. Localized flooding in low-lying areas is possible. Heavy rainfall in combination with other weather factors, such as hail, wind and lightning will make outdoor activities unsafe. Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada. To report severe weather, send an email to [email protected] or tweet reports using #ONStorm. Watch for possible washouts near rivers, creeks and culverts.

Gewitter

22.6. 9:24 PM 21:24 – 23.6. 6:04 AM 06:04

severe thunderstorm watch in effect Conditions are favourable for the development of severe thunderstorms that may be capable of producing strong wind gusts and heavy rain. Hazards: Wind gusts up to 90 km/h. Torrential downpours. Risk of tornadoes. Timing: Continuing into this evening. Discussion: Additional thunderstorms are expected to move into the area from Lower Michigan this evening. The main hazards will be torrential downpours and localized strong wind gusts. Brief tornadoes cannot be completely ruled out, particularly west of the Golden Horseshoe and for areas south of Georgian Bay. ### Strong wind gusts can toss loose objects, damage weak buildings, break branches off trees and overturn large vehicles. Remember, severe thunderstorms can produce tornadoes. Heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads. Severe thunderstorm watches are issued when atmospheric conditions are favourable for the development of thunderstorms that could produce one or more of the following: large hail, damaging winds, torrential rainfall. Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada. To report severe weather, send an email to [email protected] or tweet reports using #ONStorm.
